6. Analysis of rock video 2

Architects - Alpha omega
During the intro to the song, the audience will be presented with a number of vague and mysterious images and shots. This is not unusual to have in a rock video and could be considered conventional. This is done for a number of reasons including, building suspense until the verse of the song begins, creating an atmosphere for the song or to hint a narrative to the audience.

As the song and video progresses the audience will notice that there's no clear narrative.
Furthermore, the audience will also notice that there aren't any shots of the band performing the song, there's only lip syncing in some parts of the video. This is unconventional for a rock video not to have a performance side, especially when there's strong instrumental elements in it. For example, the electric guitar is a clear, prominent feature throughout the song.

Furthermore, the audience could guess as to what the narrative is as the video continues. This can be hard to do due to the lack of clues or hints as well as very vague shots. This is considered unconventional of a rock video as there is often a clear narrative. However, there are subtle clues as to what the narrative is in the video. The audience will notice the man in the room being shocked and panicking when he wakes up. This could suggest he's been abducted.

The audience will also be able to notice the 'thing' with the microphone smoking the cigar is also telling him to do certain things, suggesting he's now a prisoner.
